What we're working on
The Molonglo Valley Community Forum focuses its advocacy on a small number of priorities that matter most to the Valley. Each workstream brings together residents, research and direct engagement with government to make a difference on the ground.
Public Safety
Working with ACT Policing and the ACT Government to lift community safety as the Molonglo Valley grows. The current focus is a community public safety forum on Saturday 25 July 2026, bringing residents together with the ACT Chief Police Officer and Dr Marisa Paterson MLA.

Tracking and advocating on the Molonglo Town Centre and the growth of estates including Denman Prospect Stage 3. The Forum is pursuing a Standing Committee inquiry into the design and delivery of the Town Centre, and compiling examples of well-designed town centres to support that submission.

Advocating for safer roads and better connections across the Valley. Active issues include the Cotter Road Traffic Study follow-up, capacity along John Gorton Drive, and a proposed Cotter Road bus lane alongside the North Weston development. The Forum is also raising localised concerns such as speed enforcement and street lighting on Holborough Avenue.

Maintaining a direct line to the Murrumbidgee MLAs and the ACT Government on the priorities residents raise. The Forum is coordinating a single point of contact across the four MLAs and pursuing FY2026-27 grant funding through CMTEDD.
