Meet Your MLAs
Meet the members who represent the Molonglo Valley, informally and in person. The Forum is hosting an hour with our local representatives at T-Bone in Coombs. There is no formal program and there are no speeches. It is a chance to introduce yourself, raise what matters where you live, and put a face to the people making decisions about the Molonglo Valley. Confirmed to attend: Fiona Carrick MLA, Ed Cocks MLA, Dr Marisa Paterson MLA and Chris Steel MLA. Alicia Payne MP has also been invited. Food and drinks are available for purchase at the venue. Please register so that we can advise the venue of numbers. Registration is free and everyone in the Molonglo Valley is welcome.

Public Safety Forum
Annual General Meeting – February 2026
The Molonglo Valley Community Forum's 2025 Annual General Meeting, covering the Convenor's report on the year's advocacy, the Treasurer's report and financial statements, and the election of the 2026 Executive Committee. Ten nominations were received for seven positions, requiring a formal election.
2024
Annual General Meeting – November 2024
The Forum's 2024 Annual General Meeting. The Convenor's report covered the start of construction on the Molonglo River high-level bridge, the upgrade of the Molonglo group centre to a full town centre following the Forum's advocacy, and the protection of the Coombs Peninsula and Bluetts Block, alongside the Treasurer's report and the introduction of the 2025 committee.

A public community meeting of the Molonglo Valley Community Forum, open to all residents, featuring presentations from the Suburban Land Agency and project partners on infrastructure for the Molonglo Valley, including pedestrian bridges over the Molonglo River and local school developments, the future direction of the Forum, MLA addresses and open community question time.

A public community meeting featuring Libraries ACT on the future Molonglo Valley district library (Vanessa Little), a presentation on the proposed pedestrian bridges over the Molonglo River and three candidate locations (Simon Tennent, Suburban Land Agency, and Patrick Morgan, AECOM), a discussion on the future of the Forum, and the Stromlo Forest Anglican School (Craig Dent, Colliers), with an MLA panel.

A public community meeting on building disputes in the Molonglo Valley – what to do when a build or builder goes wrong (Nick Lhuede, ACT Government) – plus the proposed emergency services site at Block 2 Section 58 Duffy (Kuga Kugatha, Justice and Community Safety Directorate) and the Stromlo Reach Estate development plan (Ivo Matesic, Capital Estate Developments), with a Forum update and an MLA panel.

The meeting featured an ACT Health presentation on the Northside Hospital consultation and EPSDD on the Molonglo Valley District Strategy and draft Territory Plan, alongside reports on the year's advocacy and the election of the committee for the year ahead.

Annual General Meeting – October 2021
The Forum's first Annual General Meeting, held at its October public meeting at the Charles Weston School, Coombs. Members received reports on the Forum's first year of advocacy and elected the committee for the year ahead, alongside the usual community presentations and question time.

ACT Policing (Detective Acting Inspector Chris Ball and Acting Superintendent Rod Anderson) presented on policing in the Molonglo Valley, followed by the proposed residential redevelopment of Block 1 Section 60 Coombs (Nichelle Jackson, Canberra Town Planning, and Anthony Cirillo, Cirillo Design), a Forum update, and an MLA panel.

A special public meeting on young people in the Molonglo Valley, convened with Year 6 students from Charles Weston School Coombs who chaired the meeting. Community members worked in small groups on the opportunities, services and facilities the district needs for young people, spanning community spaces, education, sport, safety and transport. Held at the Charles Weston School Library, Coombs.

Public Meeting – March 2021
The Forum's inaugural public meeting, held in the Charles Weston School hall in Coombs and streamed via Facebook. Students from Charles Weston School opened with the Acknowledgement of Country, followed by a panel of the Murrumbidgee MLAs (Emma Davidson, Giulia Jones, Marisa Paterson and Jeremy Hanson), and presentations from Simon Tennent (Suburban Land Agency, Molonglo Development Director) and Nick McDonald Crowley (Capital Estate Developments). Community questions covered the Coombs Peninsula, the Coombs shops, police presence and the lack of community facilities.
